The ArtGemini Prize 2017 is upon us and the fifth annual cycle offers opportunities to artists of all ages from across the global spectrum.
This year’s edition again offers cash awards and recognition in the categories of painting, photography and sculpture even as the ArtGemini branched out this year with PhotoX, a new prize dedicated to photography.
The ArtGemini Prize offers cash prizes of a total of GBP 5,000 in those three categorries.
A Finalists’ exhibition will take place in September at Asia House.
The judging panel includes Jo Baring, director and curator of Ingram Collection, reputedly the biggest publicly accessible private collection of modern British art in the UK; Cristina Cellini Antonini, founder and co-director ArtRooms; Pamela Kember-Tong, head of arts and learning at Asia House; Sajid Rizvi, founder and publisher of EAPGroup International Media (Eastern Art Report, Art Criticism Today, European Crossroads, The Middle East in Europe); Dr Vanessa Champion, creative director PhotoX , lead photographer and director of ARGENTA; Isabel H Langtry, principal at Hampstead School of Art and Sculpture.
